About

I consider it a blessing to share my heart with you today. My name is Dist. Missionary Tina Carter, Founder and Executive Director of “You Can Begin Again/You Can Begin Again Too, Inc.” From time to time, I will use this page to keep you apprised of our efforts to make a difference in the lives of “At Risk” young women, ages 18-25.

Who are they, and how are they endangered, you might ask. These young women either are “aging out,” or have been emancipated; from the foster care system but lack skills to transition to adulthood. Or, they are teenagers who are chronically or sporadically homeless and need direction and support. Finally, some of the young women risk falling through the cracks of society’s safety nets because they do not fit stereotypical images of disadvantage or dysfunction and thus, do not qualify for traditional government assistance. In March 2011we expanded our vision and added “You Can Begin Again Too,” to address the emancipation to adulthood of young mothers with young children. In 2014 we were licensed to do business in the great state of Kansas.

You Can Begin Again, Inc. represents God’s gift that allows us to expand our vision to provide safe and affordable housing, educational opportunities, job training, and medical and mental health care for young women.

You Can Begin Again/You Can Begin Again Too, Inc. fosters the belief that we can make a difference in the lives of all young women. Our motto is “Women Empowering Women; Women Empowering Themselves.” My passion and desire centers on building and encouraging women of all races, ethnicities, and nationalities to become all that God has created them to be so in turn they will encourage others.

We have provided housing for over 20 women and 8 children since we opened our doors in 2010, as a result of that we have learned a lot. We have seen success and experienced some failure along the way but our vision is clearer than ever. We have turned down over 40 young women due to financial constraints and therefore we are working harder than ever to raise money so we can sustain our organization alongside of the government assistant that we so graciously appreciate. We are proud of what is happening with YCBA/YCBAT as we grow and mature in this endeavor. We have officially launched Project 3000, please see the details under the documents tab. WILL YOU BE ONE?
